Public Utilities Act; Independent Appointments Commission Act
Under the authority of section 117 of the Public Utilities Act and paragraph 9(2)(a) of the Independent Appointments Commission Act, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council is pleased to reappoint Dennis Browne, Q.C. as the Consumer Advocate, for a one-year term, effective October 7, 2017, to represent the interests of domestic and general service consumers,including participation in the Muskrat Falls Inquiry to the extent that the Consumer Advocate is granted standing to participate by the Commissioner of the Muskrat Falls Inquiry, on terms and conditions acceptable to the Minister of Justice and Public Safety, in addition to any other appointment the Consumer Advocate may receive to participate in specific hearings for the Public Utilities Board.
