Under the authority of sections 5 and 17 of the Executive Council Act and the Prerogative of the Crown, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council is pleased to restructure Executive Council, to create the Office for the Status of Women, effective February 27, 2019, consisting of all those functions formerly within the Women’s Policy Office, including:

a) The prevention of gender-based violence;
b) The strengthening of gender-based analysis across work carried out by government; and
c) The advancement of women in leadership roles.
