Under the authority of section 57 of the Elections Act, 1991 (the “Act”) and section 54 of the House of Assembly Act, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to move that a Proclamation be issued for the signature of His Honour the Lieutenant Governor providing for the holding of a by-election in the Electoral District of Kilbride and the Proclamation shall provide:

i)  That the last day for the nomination of candidates for the by-election is Monday, the 29^th day of January, 2007;

ii)  That the place for the nomination of candidates for the said by-election in the Electoral District of Kilbride be at Waterford Lions Club, 306 Waterford Bridge Road, St. John’s;

iii)  That the day of polling in the Electoral District is Thursday, the 8th. day of February, 2007;

iv)  That the Writ of Election for the said by-election be issued; and

v)  That the Writ of Election shall be issued on Wednesday, the 17th. day of January, 2007, and be returnable at the time and in the manner prescribed by Division E of the Act, together with the return of the person to whom the writ is directed endorsed thereon, and all other documents and other things required to be transmitted to the Chief Electoral Officer by virtue thereof.
