Under the authority of paragraph 2(d) of the Emergency Measures Act, section 9 of the Executive Council Act and the Prerogative of the Crown, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to appoint Mike Samson as Deputy Minister for the Fire and Emergency Services – Newfoundland and Labrador Agency within the Department of Municipal Affairs, with the operating title of Chief Executive Officer, effective April 1, 2007, at his current salary and point scale on the Executive Compensation Plan in accordance with the Executive Compensation Plan Policies and Procedures approved by MC91-0016, with a position description to be forwarded to the Public Service Secretariat for classification, the outcome of which will not negatively impact Mr. Samson’s current salary, and with any salary increase on the basis of the classification process to be effective April 1, 2007, where applicable.
