Orders in Council Database

Under the authority of section 4 of the Executive Council Act and the Prerogative of the Crown, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to move that His Honour the Lieutenant Governor, by Commission under the Great Seal of the Province, appoint the Honourable Tom Osborne as the Minister of Justice, with effect from January 19, 2007.  The Minister of Justice shall be responsible for all of those duties which are not the responsibility of the Attorney General, including:

i) the administration of court services,

ii) the administration of corrections and community services,

iii) the administration of policing services;

iv) the administration of human rights; and

v) the provision of access to legal aid to those persons who are eligible.
