Under the authority of section 16(1) of the Historic Resources Act, on the recommendation of the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to designate the Cupers Cove Archaeological Site as a Provincial Historic Site subsequent to the completion of the survey of the consolidated site and its acquisition, by purchase or by expropriation, by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.
