Under the authority of section 26(4) of the Financial Administration Act, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to authorize the Department of Transportation and Works to pre-commit funds of $7,869,200 and $5,942,900 against its budgetary appropriations for 2008-09 and 2009-10 respectively, to facilitate renewals of contracts with Labrador Marine Inc. for the operation of ferry services as well as the management of freight/administrative services.
