Under the authority of section 9 of the Executive Council Act and the Prerogative of the Crown, the Lieutenant Governor in Council hereby discontinues the appointment of Mr. John Abbott as Deputy Minister of the Department of Health and Community Services, effective May 30, 2007, with Mr. Abbott to receive benefits in accordance with section 6.2 of the Executive Pay Plan Policies and Procedures approved by MC91-0016, with the following exception:  severance benefits (if any) are not to be deducted from other termination benefits.
