Under the authority of section 16 of the Human Rights Code, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to appoint Ms. Lois Skanes, QC, to fill a vacancy in the position of Chairperson of the Human Rights Commission, with Ms. Skanes to hold office for the remainder of the term (until March 28, 2011) left vacant by the resignation of Justice Butler.
