Under the authority of section 9 of the Executive Council Act and the Prerogative of the Crown, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to appoint Deborah J. Paquette, Q.C. as the Deputy Minister (Acting) of the Department of Justice and Deputy Attorney General (Acting), effective February 20, 2006 until such time as a permanent incumbent is appointed, with salary to be in accordance with Executive Compensation Plan Policies and Procedures approved by MC91-0016 and with benefits to include payment by the Department of Justice of fees for practicing status in the Law Society of Newfoundland.
