Under the authority of section 4 of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Act, 1992, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to appoint J. F. Browne as Chief of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary effective March 17, 2006 to replace Richard Deering.  Chief Browne’s salary will be at Step 26 of the 1372 Point Scale, with a job description to be submitted for classification purposes that will not negatively impact Chief Browne’s salary, with any increase to be effective the date of his appointment.
