Under the authority of section 5(1) of the Provincial Court Act, 1991, and on the recommendation of the Minister of Justice, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to appoint Mr. John L. Joy, Q.C. to be a Judge of the Provincial Court of Newfoundland and Labrador, effective August 1, 2006, to serve in the Judicial Centre of Happy Valley – Goose Bay.
