The Lieutenant-Governor in Council, under the authority of section 802.1 of the Criminal Code (Canada), is pleased to approve the program of the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador respecting the regulation of persons authorized to practice law or provide legal services under the Law Society Act, 1999, including its determination of who may appear or examine or cross examine witnesses as an agent on summary conviction offences.
