Under the authority of section 30(1) of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Canada) and section 16 of the Young Persons Offences Act, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to authorize the designation of RCMP Detachment Lockups in Nain, Clarenville, Stephenville, Marystown and Port Saunders and the Lockup in Corner Brook, operated by the Division of Corrections and Community Services, as places of temporary detention and secure custody for young offenders with the housing of young persons in these facilities to be subject to all the relevant requirements of the laws and to the Standards of Care.
