Under the authority of section 17 of the Financial Administration Act, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to authorize the Minister of Finance to accept the settlement offer of $125,000 from Mr. Joseph P. George and to write off amounts for Coley’s Point Fisheries Limited ($89,966.90) and Island Sea Foods Limited ($55,265.01) in full settlement of a debt due to the Department of Finance resulting from Mr. George's personal guarantee on behalf of Island Sea Foods Limited ($125,000) and the aforementioned debts due to the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture by Island Sea Foods Limited ($55,265.01) and Coley's Point Fisheries Limited ($89,966.90).  The Minister of Finance is further authorized to negotiate repayment terms for the settlement amount over a period not exceeding five years.
