Under the authority of section 12 of the Forestry Act, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to authorize the Minister of Natural Resources to:

i)  enter into a Timber Exchange Agreement with Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Limited that will transfer Crown timber cutting rights in the Stag Lake area to Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Limited in exchange for Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Limited’s timber cutting rights in the Deer Lake area, as per the Timber Exchange Agreement on file with the Clerk of the Executive Council; and

ii)  accept from Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Limited an appropriate legal instrument under which Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Limited will surrender to the Crown its timber rights in the Deer Lake area.
