Executive Council Act
Under the authority of sections 5 and 17 of the Executive Council Act, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to restructure the Department of Finance, effective May 16, 2005, consisting of all of those functions formerly within the Department of Finance and the functions formerly within the branches of Treasury Board Secretariat entitled “Budgeting and Insurance” and the “Office of the Comptroller General” excluding the Division of Accountability (Boards and Agencies). The Department of Finance has four branches as follows:
i) Office of the Comptroller General;
ii) Taxation and Fiscal Policy, to be led by an Assistant Deputy Minister;
iii) Budgeting and Insurance, including responsibilities for pension administration and debt management, to be led by an Assistant Deputy Minister; and
iv) Economics and Statistics, to be led by an Assistant Deputy Minister.
