Under the authority of section 6(2) of the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement Act, section 8 of the Interpretation Act, section 13.10.1 of the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement and section 7 of the Intergovernmental Affairs Act, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to authorize the Minister Responsible for Aboriginal Affairs and the Minister for Intergovernmental Affairs to sign the Funding Agreement for the establishment of the Torngat Joint Fisheries Board for the period December 1, 2005- March 31, 2006 substantially in the form as attached in Annex A of the Minister’s Submission on file with the Clerk of the Executive Council.  The Minister Responsible for Aboriginal Affairs and the Minister for Intergovernmental Affairs are authorized to sign subsequent annual Funding Agreements for the Board, without further reference to Cabinet, provided they are substantially in the form as attached in Annex A, and in accordance with the budgets of the Implementation Plan for the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement, and that there is an appropriation in the Department of Labrador and Aboriginal Affairs Estimates for the provincial share of the Board costs.
