Orders in Council Database

Under the authority of sections 5 and 17 of the Executive Council Act, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to create the Department of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development, effective February 23, 2004, consisting of some of those functions formerly within the Department of Industry, Trade and Rural Development, with 4 branches as follows:

i)  Trade and Investment;

ii)  Regional Development;

iii)  Strategic Industries and Business Development; and,

iv)  Innovation, Research and Advanced Technologies.
