Orders in Council Database

Under the authority of section 3(1)(f) of the Medical Care Insurance Act, 1999, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to authorize the Minister of Health and Community Services, subject to the development of well defined criteria to guide the release of such information, to periodically release on a case by case basis personal and relevant information, carefully screened by physicians and/or pharmacists employed by the Department of Health and Community Services, from the Medical Care Plan database directly to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and/or the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, to permit the further investigation of repeated instances of suspected double doctoring.
