Under the authority of section 78 of the Pension Benefits Act, 1997, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to make Regulations entitled “Pension Benefits Act Regulations (Amendment)”, a copy of which are on file with the Clerk of the Executive Council, which will exempt the Memorial University Pension Plan from the requirement to finance the going concern unfunded liabilities relating to the indexing benefits and to permit those liabilities to be financed over a period not to exceed 40 years.
