Orders in Council Database

Under the authority of section 6 of the Forestry Act, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to approve for publication the document entitled the “Newfoundland and Labrador Sustainable Forest Management Strategy”, a copy of which is on file with the Clerk of the Executive Council, subject to:

  i)  the document being amended to address identified legislative concerns and the need for a provincial hardwoods strategy;

 ii)  the Department of Forest Resources and Agrifoods conducting further consultations with the Departments of Government Services and Lands; Tourism, Culture and Recreation; and Labrador and Aboriginal Affairs and the Communications and Consultation Branch of Executive Council prior to finalizing the Strategy; and,

iii)  the Department of Forest Resources and Agrifoods, in consultation with the Communications and Consultation Branch of the Executive Council, finalizing communications activities prior to the public release of the Strategy.
