Under the authority of section 9 of the Executive Council Act and the Prerogative of the Crown, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council is pleased to confirm the appointment of Chantelle MacDonald Newhook as Assistant Deputy Minister (Legal Services) in the Department of Justice and Public Safety, at her current salary and point scale on the Executive Compensation Plan, with normal step progressions and general salary increases applicable to Executive to apply, with benefits to include payment of annual practice fees in the Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador, and with a position description to be forwarded to the Human Resource Secretariat for classification by June 27, 2020, the outcome of which is to place her, retroactive to June 27, 2019, at the salary step that is closest to, without being less than, the salary to which she was appointed on that date.
