Executive Council Act
Under the authority of sections 5 and 17 of the Executive Council Act, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to create the Department of Public Safety, effective September 30, 2014, consisting of all those functions formerly within the Department of Justice, and including the agency known as Fire and Emergency Services – Newfoundland and Labrador.
