Orders in Council Database

Approval was given for the issuance of an Order in Council, under the authority of sections 5 and 17 of the Executive Council Act and the Prerogative of the Crown, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council is pleased to create the Department of Immigration, Skills and Labour, effective September 9, 2020, to consist of all of those functions formerly within the Department of Advanced Education, Skills and Labour including apprenticeship and trades certification and industrial training, but excluding post-secondary education functions, with three branches as follows:

a) Corporate Services and Policy,

b) Employment, Skills and Regional Services, and,

c) Immigration, Workforce Development and Labour.
