Orders in Council Database

Approval was given for the issuance of an Order in Council, under the authority of sections 5 and 17 of the Executive Council Act and the Prerogative of the Crown, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council is pleased to restructure the Department of Justice and Public Safety, effective September 9, 2020, to consist of all of those functions formerly within the Department of Justice and Public Safety and all of those fire services and emergency services functions formerly within the Department of Municipal Affairs and Environment, with five branches as follows:

a) Corrections and Community Services,

b) Courts and Corporate Services,

c) Legal Services,

d) Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, and,

e) Public Safety and Emergency Services.
