Crown-Lands Act
Ordered that, under authority of The Crown lands chapter 174 of The Revised Statutes of Newfoundland, 1952, as amended, the administration, control and management of the surface rights on various pieces of land situate at Clarenville in the Electoral District of Trinity South and more particularly described hereafter, be transferred to Her Majesty the Queen in the right of Canada for use by Canadian National Telegraphs in connection with the establishment of a proposed new UHF radio system esigned to expand and improve communication facilities in Newfoundland; the said land being described as follows:-
All that piece or parcel of land situate andlying and being in the Town of Clarenville in the District of Trinity South which said piece of land is bounded as follows: Beginning at a point which is distant thirty feet on a bearing of north forty-five, degrees, thirty minutes east from the northwest corner of land described in a Crown grant to Absolam Strong and now belonging to W. Critch; thence running by Crown land north forty-five degrees thirty minutes east thirty-six feet; thence, turning and running by Crown land south thirty degrees east one hundred and twenty-one feet more or less to land belonging to H. Strong Jr.; thence turning and running by said land belonging to H. Strong Jr. south forty-seven degrees west twenty-five feet; thence turing and running by Crown land north thirty-five degrees ten minutes west one hundred and eighteen feet more or less to the point of beginning and containing an area of thirteen perches more or less.
Also all that other piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being in the Town of Clarenville in the District of Trinity South which said piece or parcel of land is bounded as follows:
Beginning at a point being the northwest corner of land granted by the Crown to Absolam Strong and now belonging to W. Critch as hereinbefore mentioned; thence running by Crown lands north forty four degrees fifty minutes west one hundred and fifty-seven feet; thence running north twenty-eight degrees ten minutes west three hundred and twelve feet; thence running north seventy-three degrees twenty-three minutes west one hundred and one feet; thence running north fifty-nine degrees one minute west one hundred feet; thence running north ten degrees eight minutes west one hundred and twenty-five feet; thence running north one degree thirty-one minutes west two hundred and sixteen feet; thence turning and running by Crown lands south eighty-one degrees five minutes west nine hundred and twenty-eight feet, thence turning and, at a right angle north eight degrees fifty-five minutes west one thousand feet; thence running at a right angle north eighty-one degrees five minutes east one thousand feet; thence running at a right angle south eight degrees fifty-five minutes east one thousand feet; thence running at a right angle south eighty-one degrees five minutes west twenty-one feet; thence turning and running by Crown lands south one degree thirty-one minutes east two hundred and twenty-two feet; thence running south ten degrees eight minutes east ninety-five feet; thence running south fifty-nine degrees one minute east seventy-one feet; thence running south seventy-three degrees twenty-three minutes east onehundred and fourteen feet; thence running south twenty-eight degrees ten minutes east three hundred and twenty-five feet; thence running south forty-four degrees fifty minutes east one hundred and four feet; thence running south sixty-one degrees forty minutes east fifty feet; thence south forty-five degrees thirty minutes west sixty-six feet more or less to the point of beginning and containing an area of twenty-four acres and nineteen perches. All bearings mentioned above are magnetic.
Ordered further that the said land shall at all times be used for the purpose of providing a radio site and a means of access thereto and that if it ceases to be used for such purpose, it shall thereupon revert to the Government of Newfoundland.
