Under the authority of sections 5 and 17 of the Executive Council Act and the Prerogative of the Crown, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council is pleased to create the Department of Municipal and Provincial Affairs, effective April 8, 2021, to consist of all those municipal affairs and provincial affairs functions formerly within the Municipal Affairs branch of the Department of Environment, Climate Change and Municipalities, with one branch as follows:

a) Municipal Affairs.
