Under the authority of section 9 of the Executive Council Act and the Prerogative of

the Crown, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council is pleased to appoint John Cowan as

Deputy Minister of Industry, Energy and Technology, effective April 28,2021, with

salary at Step 12 on the 2448 Point Scale of the Executive Compensation Plan, with

normal step progressions and general salary increases applicable to Executive to

apply, with a salary differential to apply of 1% above the highest paid subordinate

until such time as, through normal step progressions, general salary increases, or

otherwise, Mr. Cowan’s salary is greater than the salary of the highest paid

subordinate.
