Orders in Council Database

Under the authority of the Prerogative of the Crown, the Lieutenant-Governor in

Council is pleased to:

1) form an All-Party Committee on Basic Income to review basic income

models and approaches and assess viability and potential for reducing

poverty in Newfoundland and Labrador, in accordance with Terms of

Reference on file with the Clerk of the Executive Council, effective

November 24, 2022, with membership as follows:

a) Honourable John G. Abbott, Minister of Children, Seniors and Social

Development, as Chairperson;

b) Honourable Bernard Davis, Minister Responsible for Labour;

c) Sherry Gambin-Walsh, MHA for the District of Placentia-St. Mary’s;

d) Craig Pardy, MHA for the District of Bonavista; and

e) Jim Dinn, Interim Leader of the Third Party and MHA for the District

of St. John’s Centre; and

2) authorize a member who is not able to attend a meeting, to be represented by

an alternate Member of the House of Assembly.
