Executive Council
Executive Council Act
Under the authority of sections 5 and 17 of the Executive Council Act and section 3
of the Intergovernmental Affairs Act, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council is pleased
to restructure the Office of the Executive Council, effective April 1, 2023, to create
the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Office and assign all of those
functions formerly assigned to the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy
Office, in the Department of Justice and Public Safety, and to include the direction
and oversight of all departmental access to information and privacy coordinators, and
remove the Labrador Affairs Secretariat, with nine offices as follows:
a) Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Office, to include all the
functions formerly assigned to the Access to Information and Protection of
Privacy Office, in the Department of Justice and Public Safety, and the direction
and oversight of all departmental access to information and privacy coordinators;
b) Cabinet Secretariat;
c) Communications and Public Engagement Branch;
d) Intergovernmental Affairs Secretariat;
e) Office of the Chief Information Officer;
f) Office of Indigenous Affairs and Reconciliation;
g) Office of the Premier;
h) Office of Women and Gender Equality; and
i) Treasury Board Secretariat.
