Public Utilities Act and Independent Appointments Commission Act
Under the authority of section 117 of the Public Utilities Act and in accordance with
paragraph 9(2)(a) of the Independent Appointments Commission Act, the Lieutenant-
Governor in Council is pleased to reappoint Dennis Browne, K.C. as Consumer
Advocate, for a one-year term, effective October 4,2023, on terms and conditions as on
file with the Clerk of the Executive Council, to represent the interests of domestic and
general service electricity consumers, for the purposes of participation in:
a) existing or future applications or hearings before the Public Utilities Board; and
b) other general matters in which the Public Utilities Board may engage the Consumer
Advocate arising outside the application or hearing process.
