Under the authority of sections 5 and 17 of the Executive Council Act and the

Prerogative of the Crown, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council is pleased to create the

Department of Families and Affordability, effective May 9, 2025, to consist of all

those functions formerly within the Department of Children, Seniors and Social

Development, with the exception of all those functions related to seniors and aging,

with four branches as follows:

a) Child and Youth Services,

b) Corporate Services and Performance Improvement,

c) Policy and Programs, and

d) Prevention and Early Intervention.
