Under the authority of sections 5 and 17 of the Executive Council Act and the

Prerogative of the Crown, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council is pleased to create the

Department of Municipal Affairs and Community Engagement, effective May 9,

2025, to include all of those functions formerly within the Department of Municipal

and Provincial Affairs, and all of those public engagement functions formerly related

to the Communications and Public Engagement Branch within the Office of the

Executive Council, with two branches as follows:

a) Municipal Affairs; and

b) Community Engagement.
