Orders in Council Database

Under the authority of sections 5 and 17 of the Executive Council Act and the

Prerogative of the Crown, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council is pleased to create the

Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture, effective October 29, 2025, to consist of all

those functions related to fisheries and aquaculture formerly within the Department

of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture, with two branches as follows:

a) Fisheries, and

b) Aquaculture.
