Orders in Council Database

Under the authority of sections 5 and 17 of the Executive Council Act and the

Prerogative of the Crown, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council is pleased to create the

Department of Jobs, Growth and Rural Development, effective October 29, 2025, to

consist of all those functions related to immigration, population growth, employment

and labour market development formerly within the Department of Jobs, Immigration

and Growth and all of those functions related to business, innovation, industry and

economic development formerly within the Department of Industry, Energy and

Technology, with five branches as follows:

a) Immigration,

b) Employment and Labour Market Development,

c) Corporate Services,

d) Business and Innovation, and

e) Industry and Economic Development.
