Orders in Council Database

Under the authority of sections 5 and 17 of the Executive Council Act and the

Prerogative of the Crown, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council is pleased to create the

Department of Energy and Mines, effective October 29, 2025, to consist of all those

functions related to energy development, mining and mineral development, renewable

energy and oil and gas formerly within the Department of Industry, Energy and

Technology, with two branches as follows:

a) Energy Development, and

b) Mines and Mineral Development.
