Under the authority of sections 37 and 41 of the Memorial University Act, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to authorize Memorial University to purchase the Battery Hotel and 4.48 acres of land at 100 Signal Hill Road (referenced at Annex A of the Minister's Submission) for $9,500,000 and to fund the purchase through a combination of its endowment fund and existing cash reserves.
