Under the authority of sections 5 and 17 of the Executive Council Act, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council is pleased to create the Department of Fisheries and Land Resources, effective February 22, 2017, to consist of all of those functions formerly within the Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agrifoods; the Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Division of the Department of Justice and Public Safety; and the Wildlife and Natural Areas Divisions of the Department of Environment and Climate Change, with four branches as follows:
 a) Agriculture and Lands;
 b) Fisheries and Aquaculture;
 c) Forestry and Wildlife; and
 d) Enforcement and Resource Services.
