Under the authority of section 9 of the Executive Council Act and the Prerogative of the Crown, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to appoint Mr. Julian McCarthy to the position of Assistant Deputy Minister – Consumer and Commercial Affairs, effective April 12, 2011, with salary at an appropriate step on the 1450 point scale of the Executive Compensation Plan in accordance with the Executive Compensation Plan Policies and Procedures approved by MC91-0016.  Further to the direction provided in MC2009-0570R and under the authority of section 6 of the Pensions Benefits Act, 1997, Mr. McCarthy is to continue in his role as Superintendent of Pensions until a new Director of Pension Benefit Standards in the Department of Government Services is appointed.
