Under the authority of sections 10 and 11 of the Executive Council Act and section 7 of the Intergovernmental Affairs Act, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to authorize the Minister of Education and Minister for Intergovernmental Affairs to extend the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) Inter-provincial Funding Agreement for a period of one year from October 1, 2011 to September 30, 2012, subject to the review of the final agreement by the Department of Justice and the terms of the extension not introducing any policy or financial changes not identified in the Minister’s submission. This extension will maintain the current seat allocation of three seats guaranteed for Newfoundland and Labrador residents in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program at the annual cost of $1,238,750 with no increase in the operating grant for 2011-12.
