Public Utilities Act
Under the authority of section 117 of the Public Utilities Act, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to appoint Mr. Thomas Johnson as Consumer Advocate, effective June 30, 2013, to represent the interests of domestic and general service consumers on terms acceptable to the Minister of Justice, after consultation with the Public Utilities Board, for the purposes of participating in:
a) the capital budget applications of Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro and of Newfoundland Power Inc. currently before the Public Utilities Board; and
b) the general rate application of Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro currently before the Public Utilities Board,
with all costs to be borne initially by the Board in accordance with the Public Utilities Act, provided however that Mr. Johnson shall prepare and file a Report with the Minister of Justice, in a form satisfactory to the Minister, outlining the details of the expenses incurred and the work performed within 45 days after the date of any Order of the Board or Order of the Court upon appeal of the Board’s Order, with all costs deemed appropriate to be subsequently assessed to Newfoundland Power Inc. and Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro.
