Under the authority of subsection 30(1) of the Youth Criminal Justice Act and section 16 of the Young Persons Offences Act, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to authorize the designation of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s Lockup in Labrador West as a place of temporary detention and secure custody for youth, with the housing of youth in this facility being subject to the Standards of Care pursuant to MC2001-263R.
