Executive Council Act
Under the authority of sections 5 and 17 of the Executive Council Act, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to restructure the executive responsibilities within the Department of Health and Community Services, effective immediately, as portrayed on the organizational chart on file with the Clerk of the Executive Council, consisting of an Executive Branch led by the Deputy Minister, an Associate Deputy Minister with multi-branch responsibilities and the following five branches, each led by an Assistant Deputy Minister:
i) Corporate Services Branch, with responsibility for providing strategic and operational advice on all matters pertaining to financial management, audit and claims integrity, information management, and department services delivered by the Strategic Human Resource Management Division for the Social Sector;
ii) Policy and Planning Branch, with responsibility for strategic analysis and advice regarding health and social policy trends, best practices research, program and policy evaluation, and policy analysis;
iii) Population Health Branch, with responsibility for providing strategic and operational advice on all matters pertaining to the development and maintenance of policies, programs and standards governing the province’s population health;
iv) Professional Services Branch, with responsibility for providing strategic and operational advice on all matters pertaining to the development and maintenance of policies, programs and standards governing the province’s health professionals; and
v) Regional Services Branch, with responsibility for providing strategic and operational advice on all matters pertaining to Regional Health Boards
