Under the authority of sections 5 and 17 of the Executive Council Act, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to create the Department of Service Newfoundland and Labrador, effective October 28, 2011, consisting of all of those functions formerly within the Department of Government Services and some of those functions formerly within the Department of Business, with 3 branches as follows:

 i)  Consumer and Commercial Affairs;

ii)  Government Services; and

iii)  Occupational Health and Safety.
