Under the authority of section 9 of the Executive Council Act and the Prerogative of the Crown, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to appoint Mr. Charles Bown as Associate Deputy Minister – Energy in the Department of Natural Resources, effective September 27, 2010, with salary set at Step 20 on the 1868 Point Scale and with normal step progressions and general salary increases applicable to the executive to apply.

Mr. Bown is to have Deputy Minister Status for the purposes of the Executive Council Act, with reporting responsibility to the Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, and with specific responsibility for Petroleum Resources, Energy Policy, Royalties and Benefits (with the exception of mining issues) and Energy Innovation Roadmap, as well as other duties that may be assigned by the Deputy Minister.
