Under the authority of subsection 26(4) of the Financial Administration Act, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council is pleased to authorize the Department of Natural Resources to pre-commit funds up to a maximum of $40,000 per year against its budgeting appropriations in fiscal years 2018-19 and 2019-20, to hire an external expert advisor to provide advice for the Orphaned and Abandoned Mines Dam Safety Program while tailings dam design repairs and rehabilitation work is being completed.
