Under the authority of sections 6 and 6.1 of the Public Utilities Act and the Prerogative of the Crown, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to appoint Mr. Andy Wells as a full-time Commissioner and to designate him as the Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of the Board of Commissioners of Public Utilities, effective March 1, 2008, in accordance with Executive Compensation Plan Policies and Procedures approved by MC91-0016, with salary at $175,000 per year, taking into account the discontinuance of pension payments of $24,520 per year that have been made to Mr. Wells under “The Board of Commissioners of Public Utilities (Commissioners’) Pension Regulations, 1967,” based on seven years of pensionable service with the Board, and with general salary increases applicable to deputy ministers and equivalents, as approved, to apply.
