Public Utilities Act
Under the authority of section 117 of the Public Utilities Act, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is pleased to appoint Mr. Thomas Johnson to represent the interests of domestic and general service consumers for the purpose of participating in the process to be established by the Board of Commissioners of Public Utilities (“the Board”) in relation to potential changes to Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro’s depreciation methodology and implementation. This appointment shall be on terms acceptable to the Minister of Justice after consultation with the Board. In accordance with the Public Utilities Act, all costs will be borne initially by the Board and subsequently assessed to Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro if deemed appropriate. Mr. Johnson shall prepare and file a Report with the Minister of Justice, in a form satisfactory to the Minister, outlining the details of the expenses incurred and the work performed within 45 days after the date of any Order of the Board or Order of the Court upon appeal of the Board’s Order. The Minister of Justice shall then submit such report to the House of Assembly within 15 days of receipt if the House is sitting or if the House is not sitting, within 15 days of the opening of the House.
