Under the authority of section 54 of the Legal Aid Act, section 10 of the Executive Council Act and section 7 of the Intergovernmental Affairs Act, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council is pleased to authorize the Minister of Justice and Public Safety and the Minister for Intergovernmental and Indigenous Affairs, or their designates, to enter into:  

a) a five-year Agreement Respecting Criminal Legal Aid and Immigration and Refugee Legal Aid for the provision of Federal funding to the province for legal aid, substantially along the lines as on file with the Clerk of the Executive Council; and

b) amendments, extensions, renewals or successor agreements, without further reference to Cabinet, provided there are no substantive policy or financial implications.
